Walter Erickson, CATC, CADS-CAS - Executive Director Walter Erickson has been an active contributor to the field of recovery since 1991. He has been in recovery for 25 years and his personal journey through such adversity has led him to bring passion and understanding to each program he has been a part of. Walt’s time as a Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC) and experience as a Program Director in numerous Orange County facilities has qualified him to be the Executive Director for WeCare.
M. Craig Jewett , C.A.T.C. - Program Supervisor Craig has been working in Orange County since 1998 as a counselor, program director, compliance specialist, and life skills coach. He brings fun and lightheartedness to recovery that makes it seem easy to do.
Gretta Sudekum, RAS - Admissions Director and Marketing Gretta Sudekum received her Registered Addiction Specialist certification from Breining Institute. She majored in Business Management and minored in Sociology studied 4 years at Fullerton College.She has over 5 years of experience in the field of addiction in Malibu and Orange County rehabs with an emphasis for intake, counseling, and referral coordination. Gretta has a background and training in business as well as experience in marketing. She first entered recovery when she was twenty-nine years old, and has recently celebrated her ninth year of sobriety. Gretta is highly active in the recovery community and gives a great deal of her time to the still suffering alcoholic / addict. She has been a dedicated member of the Hospital & Institutions committee for eight years, in committed service work in the prisons and local detox facility’s in her area. Gretta is highly organized, ethical professional who quickly establishes and maintains an empathetic rapport with clients, family members, and clinicians. She is zealous about addiction recovery, and does not see it as a job more over a way of life for her.
Jesse Marquez, RADT1 - Operations Director
Jesse is an RADT-I . After finding recovery for himself, Jesse realized his passion was helping others still suffering. In 2014 he began his career working with a high risk population and was challenged daily to find innovative ways to connect and educate others. He brings personal triumph to help others learn how to achieve it for themselves. Jesse joined WeCare at its commencement. His unique approach captures the attention of the clients and allows them to trust that they too can recover and live incredible sober lives. Jesse is an active member of Hospitals and Institutions ( H&I ) and continues his service work in helping others. Jesse is a native to Southern California and enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and fellowship
Beth Schroeder, L.C.S.W. - Clinical Director / Therapist Beth has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for close to 20 years with a passion for treating addictions with individuals, couples, and families. Before joining We Care Recovery, Beth gained extensive experience working in drug and alcohol residential rehab programs, with victims of crime, trauma, domestic violence, and over a decade being a treatment provider in Collaborative Courts programs. Additionally she has years of experience with co-occurring disordered populations. Beth has done many group therapy trainings for both licensed staff as well as interns. She also supervises trainees and interns working on their hours toward licensure. Beth received her undergraduate degree at California State University Fullerton with a Bachelor Degree in Human Services. She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work at the University of Southern California, with a mental health concentration. She also has a background in medical social work. Beth specializes in cognitive-behavioral, experiential, and solution-focused therapy to conduct her work with her clients. She takes pride in seeing her clients’ progress, as she is a true believer in being a true agent for change with all her clients as well as recognizing each individual as unique and capable of self determination.
Morae Morris, RADT1, CCAPP - Counselor
Morae Morris has established herself as a continual volunteer and staff member in the field of recovery while continuing her own journey through sobriety. Beyond her experience working with fellow addicts and alcoholics, she also has the training qualifying her to be a Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Case Manager (certifications listed below). Her vast volunteer work includes, but is not limited to, Hospitals and Institutions (HNI) and County contracted 12 step recovery homes. She brings an upbeat enthusiasm and particularly enjoys working with all ages of people so that she can use her knowledge and experience in order for them to surpass their addiction and guide them to a healthy life.
