Mood Disorder and Alcohol / Substance Abuse

Mood Disorder and Alcohol / Substance Abuse

A mood disorder can best be described as a psychological disorder that includes the elevation or lowering of a person’s mood. Whether it be depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder, when added to alcoholism and addiction, it can be a complicated combination. It may be drinking or using that led to the mood disorder or the mood disorder that led to the drinking or using. Either way, WeCare’s clinical team is qualified to provide integrated treatment for such co-occurring disorders. The integration of treatment methods produces the ability to address both the mental and addictive aspects of the core issue.
