While beginning a life in recovery, it is essential to find a method that is favorable when coping with a mind and body full of apprehension and uncertainty. Holistic therapy methods provide a new behavior that can be used to address these feelings that come from a life of addiction and alcoholism. Such therapies include meditation, yoga, spirituality and self-awareness groups and art therapy. Each provides a relaxing and safe moment to address feelings and thought processes that the client may be struggling with. Oftentimes it is an imbalance within the individual that can lead to the client seeking drugs and alcohol to fill the void that they feel. Holistic therapies provide a means to create balance and a solution to keeping the mind here and in the now.
